The 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible was set to be the last convertible Cadillac would produce. As a result, this model car became an attractive investment asset. In fact, some owners that purchased this vehicle had the automobiles taken from the dealership floor and sent directly to storage.

At time of inspection, this particular Cadillac Eldorado had less than 175 miles clocked on the odometer. The mileage was documented by the original owner and certified by our appraisal expert. An appraisal was requested for this automobile by a prospective buyer from out of state. The buyer exclusively desired an unbiased evaluation of the vehicle and an honest report of the findings. As a result of the appraisal, the vehicle ultimately turned out to be quite valuable and was sold.

The market approach appraisal technique was utilized during this appraisal assignment. This action was taken as a result of the circumstances surrounding the vehicle at the time of inspection. The owner purchased this automobile essentially as an investment in 1976. The vehicle was rarely driven and partially disassembled when not in use. To accommodate the vehicle the owner designated a storage area. The storage facility was environmentally controlled and well insulated from the environment. The vehicle was drained of all fluids and set into a cradle unit. The front bumper was removed and stored separately. This was done to relieve weight on the chassis since the vehicle is quite large. Upon completion of our inspection, we assisted the buyer in negotiating the shipping of the vehicle. The automobile ultimately was loaded into a closed transport truck and shipped to the buyer. Careful precautions were taken to insure the vehicle would arrive in the same condition as it was found at the time of inspection.
